Scott Goes to the Nimbus Fish Hatchery

On November 4th Scott and the 3rd grade classes got to hop on the bus and head to the Nimbus Fish Hatchery for a field trip. He was lucky enough to have me, his Mom, tag along. It was my first time going on a field trip with one of the kids ever! I never went before because I always had little ones at home. I have to say it was a lot of fun. I learned a lot about salmon that I didn't know. I would go back any time. The not so fun part was riding on the bus. I'm definitely not a kid anymore. I couldn't stand the noise and the smell of those lovely seats.

Scott and I enjoyed a nice sack lunch before the tour. It was a beautiful sunny day.

Big salmon!

Salmon jumping up the ladder.

Scott loved watching the fish do their thing.

This is the ladder that was created to simulate a river where the salmon fight their way up the current. It was amazing watching them climb up the ladder.

Scott had to resist the urge to throw rocks. He did save a few and let me carry them in my bag. How nice.

Dead salmon. The kids thought that was pretty cool.

They were a very good attentive class.
