Memorial Weekend at Lake of the Springs

We headed out for another fun-filled weekend camping and playing at Lake of the Springs near Marysville. We played in the lake, Steve and I practiced our open water swimming for the triathlon, we played miniature golf, flew kites, ate yummy food, and relaxed at camp reading books. The boys were never bored between playing Star Wars all over camp with their water guns and playing soccer with big pine cones. We had great weather and enjoyed being together a lot!

Race #8--Movin' On Up!

May 20th was race #8. After a hard fought, grueling race I took 2nd place! I couldn't believe it! This puts me in 2nd place overall in my class.

Race #7--3rd Place!

This week's race went much better than last week's race. It was a tough one. I was neck and neck with this girl I've been trying to beat for weeks. It was literally a race to the finish. We had a good laugh about it after the race was over. I finally got past 4th place and took 3rd.

I have to say, though, that I raced my little heart out for my little sister. My thoughts and prayers were with her all day and during the race. She had surgery that day to try to remove the cancer in her neck. She has parathyroid cancer (extremely rare). If you happen to be reading this, please say a little prayer for my sister and her family. Thanks.

Happy 35th Birthday to Me! (Did I just admit that?)

May 9th was a great day with my family. Biking, swimming, eating, eating, eating, watching a movie together. Can't beat that. Thanks for a very Happy Birthday guys! Incidentally, Steve took a picture of me with my Big Spoon Yogurt birthday treat complete with candle and singing. He forgot to save it, so it's gone. Oops.

Steve BBQ'd the yummiest steak!

I sauteed the veggies.

Joshua drooled while waiting for his food.

Noah played ninja.

I was lucky enough to get my birthday present early for my races.

Beef. It's what's for dinner.
