Last year Scott participated in a Jog-A-Thon for his school to earn money. (See post about a year ago). I guess Oak Chan, their new school, decided it was a great idea. Instead they called it the Drag-A-Thon because they are the Dragons. The kids were supposed to get people to sponsor them either per lap or just donate a flat amount. Then they had to walk or jog for 20 minutes. It was a hot day, but they had music playing and people squirting them with water and bagels and popsicles when they were finished. Scott and Noah both got 8 laps. They did great!

Noah and Corduroy
The kindergarten has a cute little Teddy Bear named Corduroy that the kids get to take home on their special day. On the special day they get to be line leader and get first pick at "Choice" time, etc. The best part is they get to take home Corduroy in Corduroy's backpack with Corduroy's journal. The kids are encouraged to do lots of fun activities with him and take pictures. The next day they are to bring him back for the next kid complete with their journal entry and pictures. This helps the kids learn to tell stories and get them down on paper. They also carry a great responsibility as Corduroy is many years old. Noah had his turn on Thursday, Sept. 24th. We thought we'd share his experience.
Noah and Corduroy got to watch Scott run in his Dragathon race before giving him back to the Kindergarten.

Hot Mom!
The other day I was driving Noah to soccer practice and we heard a commercial on the radio talking about Hot Mom's in the Sacramento area. It was a contest for the hottest mom. Noah asked "What's a Hot Mom?" I explained it was a really beautiful mommy or something like that. He said "I don't think I've ever seen you in your wedding dress, but if I did I know you would be one of those Hot Mom's" and then gives me his ultra cute grin. What a little sweetheart!

All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth...
"Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle" the dentist told Scott a few weeks ago. He is rather late in the losing of the teeth department. He lost four on the bottom, but that was quite a while ago. Finally, his two front teeth were getting loose, but that has been going on for a couple of months now. The dentist told him he had to get them out and soon! Finally, on Monday Sept. 14th one of them came out after eating an apple. Yeah!!!
Now on to the next tooth. "Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle", I told him, several times a day until finally on Thursday, just three days later, it was just hanging there and grossing me out. I told him to pull it out, but he wasn't too excited about it. Steve told him he'd give him a dollar on the spot if he'd pull it out and that got him moving. When it seemed like no progress was being made and Steve said he'd give the dollar to Noah if Scott didn't get it out he worked a little harder. After 10 minutes of trying on his own, I encouraged Steve to please help him get it out. It took 30 minutes of howling and wimpering (sounded just like I did when I was a kid trying to get my tooth out with my dad) and finally Scott had it out on his own. Yes, the tooth was ready, Scott was just being very timid about it. I think he got that from me. :)

First Soccer Games of the Season
On September 12th Noah had his 1st ever soccer game (besides the little seeding tournament a few weeks ago). He played great and proved to be the teams' top defender. He really, really wishes the coach would put him in at forward so he can score some goals, but his coach has told him he's the best fullback they have. What a compliment considering this is his first year and most of the other boys have at least a year or two under their belts. He LOVES soccer and spends a lot of time in the backyard working on his skills.
Noah is determined to get that ball...even if it means getting it away from his own teammate! Just kidding. He doesn't do that.
Scott started his second season playing soccer with a bang! He scored a goal! He is quite the hustler and gives his best effort out there. You can find him anywhere on the field in a flash trying to get that ball. He's played forward, fullback, and a little goalie. He definitely prefers forward. His skills have improved by leaps and bounds since his first season in Kanab. Go Scott!
Daddy and Noah play one-on-one while waiting for Scott's game to start. Noah got the ball past him. This is Daddy's dramatic reaction.

The Lunds Come for a Visit--Surprise Christina!
I think it is so cool and so sweet that Keith, my brother-in-law, planned a surprise trip out here to Folsom so Christina and family could visit us. It was fun planning and trying to keep things a secret for so long. However, a few days before they were coming Keith gave in and told her where they were going. He was tired of answering all the questions about what to pack, etc. That's okay. It was still a nice surprise for her.
They came on Friday, Sept. 4th, and left on Tuesday, Sept. 8th. We took the kids hiking, we went to dinner with Steve's family to celebrate Teresa's birthday, we played games, BBQ'd, played at parks, and went to Big Spoon for a yummy treat. It was a great relaxing long weekend and so much fun to see them all. Thanks Keith!

Tyler is not so happy and ready for hiking. Poor Keith.
Steve, Christina and Amy, Scott, and Noah lead the way along the American River Trail.
