Eating Humble Pie...

I've always wanted to do some mountain bike racing. The perfect opportunity presented itself and I jumped on it. Every year from April to the end of June they have the Prairie City Mountain Bike Race Series. It's only 10 minutes away and any level can race. I had my first race on April 1st(April Fools Day)and let me tell you, the joke was on me. I thought I would stomp the competition, but instead they stomped me. I knew on the warm-up lap that I was in trouble. However, I was determined to do well so I nearly killed myself on that course. My lungs burned, my legs were on fire, and I felt like I was going to puke several times. All the while I'm asking myself why I actually PAID MONEY for this torture. It was all worth it, though, when at the end of the race my boys came running to me and with lots of people standing around Joshua yelled "You were the winner, Mommy!" I took 8th out of 13 in the Women's Sport age 35+ class. I am determined to be in the top 3 by the end of the season. I've got a lot of work to do!
