Race #4-April 22nd

Right from the get-go I got stuck behind these girls who were very timid through this part of the course and were driving me crazy. I couldn't wait to pass them!

This week the course was very technical with lots of ups and downs and fast turns and plenty of places to catch air. I chose not to get too crazy for fear of ending up like so many men did this week...broken bikes and broken bodies!

I was robbed! I just had my bike tuned up and the gears started jumping around on me worse than before I had the tune up. It cost me 3rd place! At the very last part of the race I had passed three of the women who had been way ahead of me. The third one passed me, though, after my gears locked up and I couldn't get up this short steep hill. I had to jump off, run up the hill, and jump back on. By that time she had passed me and despite my best efforts I couldn't catch her in the end. She beat me by 5 seconds! I took 4th place.
